NGC 6744 is an intermediate spiral galaxy about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Pavo.  It is thought to be one of the most Milky Way-like spiral galaxies in our immediate vicinity, with fluffy arms and an elongated core. It also has at least one distorted companion galaxy (NGC 6744A) superficially similar to one of the Magellanic Clouds. A supernova was discovered in the galaxy in 2005.

Arachnid issues? What's wrong with a gert big Tarantula? Provided its 170,000 or so LY away of course :evil4::D.

Seriously, images like these are tempting me towards an 071 camera, despite my being a committed mono man.
