Large SCT Storage Box at B&Q

I wasn't sure where to post this so please move it if I'm in the wrong part of the forum.

I visited my local B@Q yesterday and noticed around 100 of these stacked against the wall at the exit at a special offer price of £15. It struck me that they would be ideal for storing large SCT's or the small to mid-sized CPCs. I didn't look inside but they looked quite sturdy and the price is hard to ignore.

Hi, My local HandiCentre had these in stock and were selling at double that price. Good quality heavy duty as described. I bit big for C8s or C9s but OK for C11s. As you say the larger SCT. Some interior padding foam would be necessary tho....Dave

I have one, and my Meade 10"SCT resides in there.    There is nothing inside in term of shelves or compartments... which is great,  but there are a few plastic 'buttresses' to give the box strength.   These may be an obstacle for bigger scopes or if you have extra dovetail bars.....or as I have, a dual speed focuser on the end of the OTA.   Always best to take a tape measure to it just in case.

It has wheels as well.

I bought some High density foam ( Yoga mats.... avoid the 'used' ones !! ) with double sided tape to pack it all out.

At £14, it is very useful.

box! , my scopes don't get enough time off to be put in a box , great I idea mate. thay look very sturdy, cheap too. thanks , charl.
