Shelster1973
At present I image with an 8" Orion f3.9 Newtonian to which I have fitted a Baader focuser, arduino focuser controller and have flocked it. While it has been good I am toying with the idea of selling it on and joining the frac club What would others do? The main reasoning is for the pure ease of use. I am fairly happy with colimating but the easier I can make it for setup and imaging start the more the better. Choices of scope would be the 80ED or the 100ED with the matching flattener
PeterCPC
Of those two I would go with the ED80. The ED100 is better suited to planetary as it's f9. The ED120 is also good for DSO's. Peter
xtreemchaos
sounds like a good plan but why not do both because each has its merits, I love using my newt for nebulas like great orion and horsehead and for cluster and wider stuff I favour my fracs and planets, sol, moon, I find together thay cover all the bases. the ed80 would be my choice. charl.
