A Guide to Deep sky Stacker

I got a copy of Dave Eagles guide to Deep sky stacker www.eagleseye.me.uk , £7 plus delivery £1.50 Easy to understand ,step by step, guides you through from start to finish ,pamphlet style of book 36 pages nicely presented  ,good for a quick reference covers all you need to know to stack your photos , tells you all about the settings within DSS ,covers comets too ,highly recommended  ,okay you can find plenty of info on the web but it's nice to have a book at hand for quick reference.

Deep Sky Stacker seems to have dropped off the list of relevant stacking software as it has not been updated for a couple of years and looks like it is not likely to be. there are other bits of SW out there that seem to do a similar, if not better job.

Startools = £40

APP = €150...

PixInsight = €276

It is like comparing apples to oranges.

However you will get much more bang for your buck by spending upto €276 on some decent software than you will on any hardware of the same price.

Fair point but for someone starting out  in AP or on a budget  it will do the job and this little booklet will come in handy ?
