Red light headtorch

I used to have a Petzl that had a flip up red lense, so your light could always be red, they seem to have changed the design now so you have to cycle through white light first

Anyone know of any that you can just get red light ?

The switch goes one way for read and the other direction for white with off as the central position

You can also just paint the glass of an ordinary white light head torch with a coat or two of red nail varnish until you get the level of dimness you need.

It's great. The red light is separately switchable, and it's rechargable. Works a treat.

Our Petzls (admittedly bought 3-4 years ago) switch on as red or white depending on what it was showing when it was switched off. It'd be surprised if the designs had moved backwards in that respect.

I put a piece of red acetate in my old fishing LED headlamp so when i switch it on its always red plus it has 3 brightness settings if i remember rightly it only cost about a Fiver for the headlight
