I have one - I've nothing to compare it to, but I would say they are very quiet - certainly wont disturb anyone.

Another question if I may..... how are these mounts on AA battery usage?. Also are they ok with rechargables

Rob, it looks to me like the supatrak mounts are very similar to the SLT mounts. I've used my SLT on AA batteries and it's not great. The tracking is sort of ok, but does slip. I just don't think AA's can delivery the required power smoothly.
