Fun with my new NEQ6

I tried out my new NEQ6 on Saturday night/Sunday morning and at first couldn't work out why it slewed in completely the wrong direction when doing a two-star-align.

After a re-read of the instruction manual, I spotted the date was in U.S. format MM-DD-YY.  Doh!!!  I'll bet that's never happened to anyone else

Oh I've done

I couldn't figure out why oh why the mount was pointing in the complete opposite direction! I tried several times to align before DOH! the dates wrong.

I felt like a complete muppet

Yes, I tried several times too.  I eventually tried to get it to look at Jupiter to see if it would help me figure out the problem.  When it said it was below the horizon, I decided it was time to look at the manual again
