Iris Nebula NGC7023

In what seemed like the only clear evenings i had had free for ages, i aimed the scope at the iris Nebula. Of course it wasn't fully clear as the sky had a hazy blanket that never really lifted. Combine this with a low target and perhaps it wasn't the best choice.

This image was taken over two evenings last week and consists of 31 x 420s L, and 24 x 300s each of RGB. Flats and bias were used in calibration. This is an uncropped 1200mm unguided image taken with a 1200/152 and an SXH694; my PA isn't good enough yet to go higher than 7 minutes and this is on the edge so some work  to do here.

I am currently in France and Olly Penrice has processed this particular version for me using mostly PS. I only hope i took enough notes so i can try to emulate his abilities.

Thanks for looking.
