AlistairW
Bought a Kemo Rain Sensor http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/kemo-rain-sensor-dc-12v-n21dd wired it up and works great. Got a 100db buzzer on it, - hopefully save any disasters if I fall asleep on the sofa during imaging :-) Had all the other bits and pieces lying around so cost me £25 in total. (Wondering what will happen with dew though ?) Alistair
Starlight 1
I have been use in one for 2 years and dew have not set it of yet. even rain did not work that well , so I use a tunnel that fit 30mm over the top to made bigger droplets to set it off fine rain take a long time to set it off. Starlight 1
PS thay got a heater in them so dew and fine rain dry up before it set it off.
steppenwolf
I have just got one of these as a backup for my PC controlled AAG CloudWatcher - a lightning strike (often connected with rain!!), could take the PC control out making the CloudWatcher redundant right when I need it ...... In bench tests the Kemo has performed faultlessly but it has always been my intension to place it under a projection on the dome to 'magnify' the amount of water falling on the sensor.
