Here is Jupiter drawn in a fairly bright sky at 19:06UT and with good seeing......

Jupiter 31st March 2016.jpg

There were some interesting features ....

1. A small bright white oval sitting on top of the North Equatorial Belt - I've highlighted it with a dotted line.

2. Two large blue festoons with long trailing arms and a smaller one on the south edge of the NEB

3. The NEB has a noticeable step where it narrowed starting at the white oval and the NEB was darker than the SEB.

4. Loads of detail in the South Equatorial belt - A dark line leading to the Great Red spot, lots of disturbance after the GRS and three dark features in the disturbance.

Observing details .....

Wonderful sketch, you've picked out some lovely detail there. I wish I'd tried observing it earlier, but the seeing was pretty rotten here all day and only started to improve as I was packing away around 10.30pm.
