I am looking to get one of the above as a replacement for the plossl i have and wondering which brand would be best suited to my nexstar  se dont want to spend fortunes but around £100-£150 would be ok as i want also to get a better finder than whats on the scope as i dont like the standard red dot as i struggle with it

Finder wise, go for a RACI 9x50

I would recommend the larger FOV of the explore scientific 68 degree eye piece.

Would that not fit my celestron nexstar

It should fit, it's a 25mm 50° eyepiece. Like the TeleVue 25mm 50° Plössl. Which BTW is cheaper and is known for it's high quality even in fast scopes.

I know the Celestron 25 mm kit eyepiece. It's not bad at all in an f/10 SCT (I have a 6SE). It's quite good actually. Rather than replace it, I would add another eyepiece to it, one with a shorter focal length and a 70 degree-ish field.
