Eq6 pier what dia

Thinking of making a pier for my Eq6 i have spotted some steel tube looks about 110-120mm dia approx 3mm thick  ,would that be sturdy enough for the pillar post?.

It could depend a lot on what you intend in total, now or in the forseeale future, to fit on to the EQ6. I would think of 110-120 diameter to be a minimum, larg diameter thin wall is better than small diameter thick wall. Have you considered a "Todmorden" pier?

I spotted a 2m lenth that i may be able too get at a good price ,that was all though did see a 6"sq steel ,though i did see a supplier in my county does 6" wooden poles i could tell the wife its a bird table lols.

dug my hole tied it in with rebar filled it with concrete and stuck my pier plate in. cost me less than £80 to make my pier and it was solid.
