DSLR Single Shots of Jupiter

Does anybody know a Mac-compatible program for planetary/deep sky stacking or processing?

If not, what settings do I use to take single shots of Jupiter? I know processing videos are better but I might not have that option.

Lynkeos has worked pretty well for me (it runs natively on OS X) you could also look into running austostakkert or registax in Wine, though I have tried that and it was beyond my pathetic IT capabilities

Your best chances of getting decent images of Jupiter will be by AVIs - if you have a DSLR/Camera why not take video?

Boot camp and a Windows partition? Lots of good free Windows programs. Single shots with a DSLR are not going to be great unless you are fantastically lucky with the seeing.

Because I can't do anything with the video. I don't have any planetary stacking softwares.

There is Autostakkert which is free http://www.autostakkert.com/

or Registax which is also free http://www.astronomie.be/registax/

The best way to stack is to use Autostakkert first and then adjust the wavelets in Registax. If you need to convert the video files to AVIs you can use PIPP (also free).

As has been said, AS!2 and RegiStax work in Wine on OS X.

Depending on your camera, you can capture with the OS X native version of oaCapture (http://www.openastroproject.org/oacapture/).
If you capture .ser files instead of .avi files you can view then and do a few other things with the OS X native version of SER Player (https://sites.google.com/site/astropipp/ser-player).

You can also run PIPP in wine on OSX, which should allow to to convert your DSLR video files to AVI for stacking.
