Help with id on this object please

Hey everyone, I've recently got a canon 100d and ive tried taking a few night time pics, i was hoping someone could help me out with this one i got, the camera was set 15sec exposure, 1600 iso and f5.6 at 55mm, taken Monday‎, ‎25‎ ‎January‎ ‎2016 ‎20‎:‎20.  Im thinking i may of captured Andromeda and maybe Triangulum(please correct me if im wrong), anyway i was wondering what the smudge in the middle was, i cant seem to accurately ID it, this is really my first time using a dslr camera to capture the stars so i welcome any constructive criticism, thank you for taking the time to look

The smudge is a galaxy if you were pointing in the area where M31 resides that's what it likely is....

It would be better if you uploaded the image file as either a .jpg or .png. That way the image will be displayed on screen and will not need to be downloaded to view on the reader's own computer.

Definitely M31, the Andromeda Galaxy

I think this is the correct fov size and orientation to match your image, the star field is correct.

Thanks a lot everyone, well happy capturing a galaxy with my dslr, in the future I'll also upload with jpeg or png. I know my photo is not as good as most but I'm still happy with it? Thanks again
