red lunar filter

Hi folks...belated Happy New Year!

I'm just wondering if the red filter on the RGB set would help with lunar dslr shots?

Not sure the Red one would but I recall reading that Magenta helped, so maybe the Blue. Although I cannot think why it should. Maybe I have the wrong object but sure it was in reference to the moon.

I think it is supposed to help with mono cameras as light towards the red end of the spectrum is less effected by our atmosphere. Not sure if it will make any difference with a colour sensor? As ronin says, give it a try. I have lots of things that I want to try - if the weather ever clears here!

An IR pass filter works well in "taming" the seeing , but this is with monochrome planetary cameras , not with a DSLR with it's filter in place.

Worth trying with your ASI 120MM though.
