C90 Mak Thread Confusion

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a Celestron C90 Mak and what a nice scope it is too it is also much bigger than I imagined.

My main reason for getting this scope is for full frame Lunar work with the Canon DSLR, the scope has a T thread on the end of the eyepiece holder but the thumbscrews get in the way a bit so I went and bought this http://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/celestron-maksutov-t-adapter.html but it unfortunately doesnt fit.

The thread on the scope is obviously smaller than an SCT as with this adapter http://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/celestron-sct-t-adapter.html but I cant realy find much info on it and what adapters would work.

Anyone got any ideas.

Erm take out the thumb screws when using your camera , your eos adapter should screw then , that's what I do with mine and it seems to fit and work fine. Hope this helps.

Having looked some more it seems like the best option I had wondered if an alternative might improve the mild vignetting with a DSLR but some experiments with differing spacings and mirror positions changed it very little.

Thanks for the replies folks.
