Astro-modding my DSLR.

Ok, so a a few weeks ago I bought a barely used 600D from MPB photographic and it's been used a few times and quite happy with it. Now I want to modify it taking out the filter. While,I could probably do this myself, I don't have then tools nor workspace that is going to be sufficiently dust free and most of all I would just prefer and pay for someone else to do with some guarantee at least. Looking online there seems to be a couple of setups that do the mod for a reasonable cost: Astronomiser and Cheap Astrophotography. I'm sure it's Ok, but has anyone had recent experience of using any of these to allay a small concern about sending my camera...

I used Cheap Astrophotography, no problems whatsoever.

He will also adjust the white balance so there's little to adjust on day time shots in post processing.

Will the mod affect my dark library (i.,e wiil I have to chuck my currently dark library and have to start all over again?)  I can't see any reason why it would but perhaps I'm missing something....

I can't imagine it will, as there's no light present (preferably) on a dark frame.
