double stack sm2 60 etalon

would it be possible to mount my double stack sm2 60 front etalon onto an st80 and what would i need to do it,also would it work with the bf10 from my solarmax 2 60 scope and just the front mounted etalon or would i need an ERF filter aswell.

Both would work. No added ERF required.

You need the adaptor ring to fit the SM60 in a double stack and a machined adaptor to hold the SM60 on the front of the ST80.

I have exactly the same setup so I can confirm that it's a "yes".   No extra ERF is needed as the SM60 etalon has its own.

thanks peter,where did you get the adaptor to fit the etalon onto the front of the st80.

also what do the views thru the st80 compare to the dedicated solarmax 60.

MBJ.  I made my own adaptor and fitted it to the dewcap. I find the performance to be better than the dedicated Solarmax, probably due to using a 60mm portion of an 80mm objective. As well as tuning the SM60 etalon, "clocking" the entire unit relative to the BF assembly can sometimes improve the performance further.
