Electronic focuser for camera lenses

Hiya!

I use camera lenses with my CCD, and currently use focus rings to get focus. But they are quite fiddly, I'd love to get an electronic focuser! I've looked around for a system I could buy but haven't had much luck (aapart from robofocus which is a bit pricey for me), so it might be a nice DIY project. Problem is I don't know where to start! I was hoping for some help from you technical folk

I had a look at stepper motors on ebay, but not quite sure what to look for. Also how would I connect a hand set to this? And is it possible to get my DIY solution to be controller via computer?
