September 11, 2015: Where did that come from?

Just had a quick look in hazy skies, hoping to see if the two surges I seemed to spot did indeed herald something interesting coming around the corner. In a way, they did, because I did spot  bright plage area in roughly the right region, but my attention was drawn to a series of big sunspots with bright plage and dark filaments associated with it just west of centre. Some fairly small sunspots clearly became WAY more active over the last 24 hours. I doubt I will be able to catch it on camera, but it is well worth seeing

Managed a quick look this morning and that area looked to be brightening up, no imaging too cloudy today, too windy yesterday

Michael, I was watching this area as well. It looked very complex and when the seeing settled the detail was amazing
