That was so much fun, thank you. Got stuck on 4 across, and 2, 7 & 18 down :(

Cheers,

Kev.

18 down has me stumped for the time being, too.  The answer that seems obvious to me doesn't appear to fit.  Or I can't spell :)  4 across is perhaps not a word you see used commonly and 7 down is probably fairly rare (and it took me a moment to realise it uses the US spelling).  2 down is probably most often seen when referring to the Moon.

Here you are, for 2 down:

My first has a queen but no king,

My second is zero or nothing.

My third is a French she,

My fourth the first person, not me.

My penultimate is a river, and

My last you shouldn't need by now :)

Kev, well you might have to use Google. Telling you the answers would be too easy :) But you get the gold start anyway for being the first for having a go.

Yep, just what I'm doing. Cheers for that, though, that was really fun!

The correct answer to 18 down does fit ?

If that's Patrick Moore's home then yes, it does.  18 down didn't used to be that clue.  When James corrected the spelling of the original 18 down clue the software rearranged the crossword and renumbered the clues.
