Light Pollution and night scapes

You won't be able to get the most striking images we all know and love - showing every bit of detail in the milky way. But, you can get quite pretty shots of constellations and star trails. You can remove - to a certain degree - the light pollution in post processing. If you can see the milky way, the camera can too, but the Moon is slowly making its way towards ruining any chance of seeing the milky way. You can also image the brightest DSOs. Other than that, you'll have to get away from light pollution.

So, in short, the answer is no. But it will limit you and make things difficult with the extra gradient it causes in images.
