You're slipping John! ;)

Must admit, neither would be my first port of call to view Jupiter, I tend to start with the 8mm and work down (in mm) or up (in mag.) from there. :)

As John has said though, it'll be lovely on some of the dim, big fuzzies!

Don't worry just yet.

Jupiter and Venus are both so low now that they will be washed out by light Sky and poor seeing. I had a quick look the other evening and got the same.

Try a bright open cluster high in the sky higher in in the sky
