First night

I got my scope tonight! My wife bought me a Celestron Astromaster 130EQ.

Unfortunately it's a little overcast, but i did have a quick window where i could point it at what Stellarium told me Jupiter. Just got it in focus and the clouds came over again

I did learn however that the laser dot pointer wasn't as bad as i had read. Pointed it where i wanted and it was bang on!

At least you have got the hang of the basic set up. Agreed. Better without clouds.

At least you set it up correct!

Somehow I thought the red dot finder would be set when I got my first telescope out of the box.

It took at least an hour before I thought to adjust it :-|

I do think i got lucky with the finder. I aligned it roughly close during daylight and was very surprised when it was so close.
