PST on ebay, is the objective lens ok??

Hi, 

There's a PST on ebay I was thinking of bidding on so I asked for pictures of the objective to rule out rusting as it's 7 years old. The colour looks good but does the lens look to be too far down the tube to anyone else? 

I'm not sure you should be able to see the silver section?

What do people think?

Isn't the 'silver' section a reflection of the threaded hood? Ask the seller for another picture at a straighter angle.

The "rusting" affects the front element of the blocking filter AFAIK, rather than the objective.

I don't know, it looks too vivid to be a reflection to me, here's one head on:

ok thanks for the info Michael. I've only seen pictures on the net which show an opaque orange objective lens, so the orange colour originates from behind this the lens then.

Here is a rusted objective, but see how the lens butts up against the ringed section, not 1cm down the tube showing the silver inside of the tube.

Bidding as just finished, it wen't for 440 inc postage in the end, I would prefer a Lunt anyway
