April 16, 2015: Some lovely proms and loads of disk detail

Recommended Posts

I had an early morning look at the sun with the SM-II 60 and the views are great. Looks like something big is lurking round the corner again. The big prom on the north-eastern limb is still going strong, along with some smaller but bright proms dow south. Lovely detail to see on the disk around the great collection of sunspots. Some fainter proms visible on the western limb. Really superb view

Agreed Michael,  its superb.  That collection of sunspots are crisp and complex with some beautifully twisted plasma patterns right now, the contrast and variation of features at the moment are mesmerising.  Whats really nice is that the main features are all in one 1/4 of the disc & it all fits into the sweet spot really well :)
