M97 - The Owl Nebula - WIP

A quick WIP process of data from Tuesday night (much better guiding without the wind of Monday night!)

I still lost 4 subs through drops in dec so I need to study the logs. I've a feeling it's backlash but then they felt like they came at very regular intervals (25 minutes or so) !?!

Not an ideal object for 750mm. It's a bit too small and dim!

Anyway, this is 10x600s and although I don't think I'll really get any more detail at this focal length, I'd like to push it to 5 hours to at least get the noise down a bit.

No calibration at this stage.

Thanks Sara.

I actually read your M97 post yesterday and thought that maybe I shouldn't have bothered with the equipment at my disposal, lol.

You are too hard on yourself though, it looked really good to me!

That looked a challenging target - so I wimped out for now.

Well done on that capture especially with the skies we have had recently!

Paddy

Thanks Paddy.

I think you have better judgement than me!

I was quite lucky this week, 3 nights on the trot. The last time that happened was early 2013!

Although, Monday night I struggled with guiding buffeted by the wind and ended up with nothing worth keeping!

Ah well, at least I learned what level of gales my rig can't cope with
