.....(+EQ3 mount) got given one free by a work colleague today who is downsizing. It's a 750mm/F5 or maybe 525mm/F3.5 with the ASA Keller reducer/corrector. Looking forward to trying it out.

Congrats, luck guy. It is useable on the EQ3, but only just. i would certainly recommend an upgrade to the mount. This was my first scope / mount.

The EQ3 might be useful as a portable wide angle camera mount? I would stick the scope on an a EQ6 for actual AP use.

I started out with one of these 5 years ago on an EQ5. They make a decent scope for imaging, my only issue was the focusser tube at the point of focus intruded in to the light path causing little "bite" marks out the side of bright stars - easily fixed I imagine.

Yeah, I reckon an EQ3-3 would be a pretty good choice to carry a DSLR for wide-field.
