Last night's 1% illuminated crescent would probably not have been possible for me due to the western foothills seen below even if it hadn't been cloudy.

4% and clear, tonight, with Venus along for the ride:

Actually, Michael,  it became un-boring recently, by way of a freak snowfall on New Year's Eve. Woke up to an inch-and-a-half on the ground that morning (I'm at 1300ft elevation) that was mostly gone by the next day. A once -in-a-lifetime event around here.
