LS60thA/ pentax xf 6.5 zoom

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has this setup? I sold my baader zoom to fund separate eyepieces ( astro and Fujiyama orthos) to see if less glass produces better views. They do BUT I don't like swapping eyepieces, I much prefer the one scope one zoom option. I've heard good things about this zoom but has anyone used one with a H ALPHA scope? Thanks

The fl is 500 Shane. So with the pentax will give me just over 70x

I found by using even a 6mm and 5mm (100x) it gave good views but not as sharp as a lower magnications . The pentax will cover all my needs:)

I sold my lunt Shane to fund orthos but as we all do.......we strive for that extra little bit of detail so sell on and buy better (or what we think is better;)

Shane I have found 9 -10mm works most favourably in my Lunt 60, most zooms have this size covered.

What made me sell my Lunt Zoom was the fact that even thought it was great on the sun it was a bit poor for night time observing at the lower power settings and I wanted a zoom that performs on all targets across it range.
