It works very well. when your doing

A lot easier to focus.

It does.But it does not look as cool

Have you tried,  using a clothes peg.

That is why i bought that.You can also

use the lid of a jar.Just cut a hole in it.

Depends if you just want a bodge.

Looks good and for sure is a lot cheaper than a Feather Touch micro focuser. I have some 2.5" diameter black Derlin so the lathe has to come out of the retirement.

I made a similar 3.6" fine focus device for my C8 from extra-thick double sided sticky tape from my local pound shop. The product is white, 1.5mm thick and 17mm wide, and just over 10cm OD. I wrapped a single turn of paper round the existing knob to prevent a sticky residue should I feel the need to remove the addition, and just wound the tape on to the knob carefully, Like the bought knob at the head of the thread, a usable length of the original 0.75 knob protrudes from the modification, which can be removed without difficulty. I wouldn't be without this facility for the world - and it cost, of course, a pound!
