On another fantastic summer day here's the sun:

This is a mosaic of four frames shot through a PST with a QHY5 camera, using Sharpcap. The contrast banding is bit evident in this one.

Really nice shot from your set up. Have you tried flats to even the field? Which software do you use for the mosaics? Autostitch tries to adjust the luminance balance to avoid the banding, but doesn't always improve on any other method.

Firecapture will apply flats as you capture and should work well with your QHY5. Firecapture takes a little bit of getting used to but it is now my webcam capture program of choice and has some very nice features.
