Imaging run that crosses the meridian ???

As we speak I am imaging M101 which in about 4 mins crosses the meridian !!

I havent done this before - will it flip automatically or do I need to do something ????

Its a HEQ5, EQDIR, Carte du Ciel.

Provided there's no chance of a collision between 'scope and mount just leave it , it will not automatically flip unless you slew to another target for some reason and then try to slew back with the Go-To.

Thanks Steve - there was a real danger of scope hitting tripod so I reslewed to target and it flipped,reset up guiding etc and told it to 'get on with it' !!

I am guessing I wont be able to stack all the subs as the ones after the flip will almost be a mirror image of the pre - flip ones ???

You will be able to throw all subs in together - the software will sort it .... in my experience.

The HEQ5 will go over for an hour or so, where as my old CGE had a hard meridian limit.

You can when you get round to it get software to do it all for you, it will tiem the flip, make it solve and re sync, carry on imaging.

With the new Synscan Firmware u can Autoflip, but if its in no danger of hitting something your fine.
