A Rough n Ready NGC40

Chris

Recommended Posts

Scope= C8 Edge @ F/7 1422mm focal length.

Camera= Canan 350D full spectrum modded.

60 x 30sec

No guiding, No darks or flats, No IR or LP filter, No processing other than DSS hence a bit rough and ready :D

NGC40 is also known as the Bow Tie neb and it lives in Cepheus :)

Its a tiny little PN, so small that I've had to crop the image a fair bit even at 1422mm focal length.

For just 30 second subs Chris and with a dslr you've picked up a good signal, this target is perfect for you're edge, but you will need longer exposures you may even pick up the faint filament jet that is ejecting out!

Hi Thanks :) I'm definately going to start guiding now I've decided, I've put it off for way to long being content with 2 minute exposures at short focal length. At this kind of focal length 30 seconds is a struggle so its giving me a bit of a push! :D
