First for a while

Last night was my first time out for some time and I managed an hour or so between clouds. Also it was a chance to try out my new patio pir arrangement.

it was a bit breezy, but no dew!

As I usually do, I started with doubles to make sure everything was ok.

Mizar Polaris and Albireo were easily split. Then on to Andromeda and M33, really bright and clear. Then as a bit of challenge I tried for M57. Lyra was right on my Western limit, and I was pointing straight into a neighbour's outside light!

Despite that, the Ring was the clearest I'd ever seen it. Seeing must have been particularly good.

My plan was then to go East and check out Orion, and particularly split Rigel, which has been eluding me so far, but it was still too low before clouds rolled in.

Nothing spectacular but it felt good to be back!
