Some shots of the sun 05 / 10 / 2014

Loads of activity on the sun yesterday so I grabbed some quick captures with the QHY.

I got an exposure with the proms for this last shot as well but I'm having real problems blending the two together with a layer mask in photoshop.

Does anyone have any tips?

Sorry, no knowledge of the Black Art of AP but love your images - especially the second one above with that wonderful prom.

Glad you got better weather than I had yesterday (and it's even worse today, as with the rest of the UK!).

Super images :) pity about the rings though, have you tried flats or tilting the camera?

Cheers Alexandra, yea I was a bit annoyed with the onion rings.

I will try some flats.

very nice images, excellent proms!

i think some imagers use one of these to tilt the camera http://www.optcorp.com/t2-tilt-adjuster.html a bit pricey though! i have also read that just rotating the webcam to another position can help as well.
