EQ Mount level'd on grass

I have one of these that I use indoors:

It would probably be ok to use on grass. Relatively cheap

The only problem I've encountered on grass, especially this time of year, is that I get an awful lot of dew settling on the equipment after a couple of hours viewing, and within 3 hours it's on the objective lens. And that's with a dew shield. No problems with shifting or vibration though.

I wonder if the old ground sheet trick will help, I`ve never tried doing that before, but I suppose if the gear is going to dew up it will anyway.

Hi Jonathan,here is my set up on 2 square pieces of wood,nail gunned together with hole drilled out in middle.

I used a rubber stopper out of a fuse board to dampen vibration,i also just stand on each board as im setting up to firm down.
