Powermates/Barlows and 32mm Plossl 1.25 eps

I am sure I read somewhere that you can't use 32mm Plossl eyepieces with a Barlow. Is this true and if so why?

I tried but the results were not good - very difficult to get good eye placement - too much eye relief.

As above for barlows but Powermate's / TeleXtenders don't increase the eye relief so it's a more practical proposition.

I agree with John, Powermate or tele-extender is your best bet, By what I've understanded, using barlow (even a televue barlow) with your 32mm plössl or 19mm Pan will vignette, showing darker and fuzzy edge.

emm,not quite understand why you have the need of barlowing 32mm plossl,specially that you do have a 19mm Pan in your case? Will it not be cheaper to pick up a TV 15mm plossl if 15mm or abouts is the length you want to achieve?

Why would you want too ?  ( probably because you can )  the reason I don't is because my 32mm is in 2" format, so  I would need a 2" Barlow  or a 1.25" - 2" adaptor. Eye-relief would be too excessive to be comfortable.  I bought  my  32mm just to have the wider view option. I suppose I would try If I could, but Barlowing my widest EP was not its intention.
