Fair size clear bit came over just after 5pm but would it stop raining! So I set the mount and scope out with it still raining and waited.....and waited ....and waited, by this point the entire sky directly over me is clear but it is still raining. On the southwest horizon meantime I can see the next big cumulo nimbus approaching and if I don't get out soon I will lose the shot so I grabbed the camera and went out anyway. By the time I had finished the rain had stopped but that's the first one I have shot whilst it was still raining.

It's a funny feeling photographing the Sun through a distant gap with it raining from above you , but you'll get used to it ...
