Any BAA members might be interested in this. I think I might go as its not too far from my location.

This will be the programme for the day

You will have to pay on the day for food and drinks purchased in the

cafe at lunchtime. They are offering Jacket potatoes with filling at

£5.50 and there will be an option for sandwiches as an alternative. We

have been asked to give the caterers a list of exact requirements by

11.00 on the day so there will be a sheet to fill in indicating your

choice on the registration desk when you arrive. I will appreciate

your help by doing this.

Hi is this open to non BAA members as I'd like to come along if possible.

I just remembered on a previous BAA meet they allowed outsiders - they just had to pay a nominal entrance fee - £2.50.

It looks like the most difficult thing will be navigating Milton Keynes roads to get to the event.

You could always ring the BAA to check first if you want.

See at the event if you go.

Kevin,

It would be worth ringing the BAA to check.

It was several years back since my last attendance at a BAA meeting and things may have changed.

Perhaps other SGL / BAA members reading this post might be able to clarify.

Walton is pretty easy to get to, and the Hilton Hotel in MK which is quite cheap is opposite the entrance.

£5.50 for a jacket spud... wow... that's some markup.. what are they filling it with, Caviar and Truffles?

ok, just spoke to someone in the london office and she says that most of the workshops can be attended by non BAA members, you just pay a little extra as Jcm said. Tried to confirm with the organiser Hazel Collett, left her a voicemail to call me back... will post back when confirmed.

Except for the exclusive-organically-grown-caviar-laden-footman-served jacket spud!!

Hopefully see people there

you forgot that it was grown in the manure of Lipizzaner stallions, ridden by nubile maidens on the island of Kauai, the airfreighted first class in a flat bed seat on Virgin Airlines, before being chauffeur driven to Milton Keynes

:D:lol:

Good meeting. LaVey and I had a good chat during the day. The best part was the afternoon session when several expert "image processors" (Mike Foulkes , James Jeffereson , David Arditti , Martin Lewis ) went through the procedure for using Registax to get the best possible final image. Martin Lewis showed me things that you could do with Registax that I had never seen before. Will now have to reprocess all my planetary image files :D

All we want now is a workshop on deep sky image processing.

Sorry i couldnlt make it, had some drama going on at home.

And yes, a Deep Sky workshop somewhere local would be the dogs danglies.

No Worry sometimes other things have priority.

I think the BAA are likely to put on a Deep Sky Workshop if enough BAA members request it.
