I have a set of Olympus 10x50 and they are perfect for me. A great buy that have helped me no end on my observations. Keep an eye on Amazon for some great bins at amazing prices (£50-£100). They will last you years if you look after them.

Clear Skies.

Funnily enough I borrowed a pair of binocs from someone on a boat in the marina today as I thought I had seen someone in difficulty - I use binocs a lot and I was so surprised at the quality of the image I had a look at the brand - Olympus Trooper 8x40 DPS1 !!!!

The image quality was truly outstanding - he paid £20 for the in a charity shop !!!

I ddnt use them for long and it was daylight but the quality of construction and the brightness, contrast and sharpness was astonishing.
