Can you barlow an orthoscopic eyepiece?

I have recently bought an Astro Hutech 12.5 orthoscopoic eyepiece.

Can you realistically barlow this eyepiece in a 1.5x/2x barlow or should I be saving my money to buy the 9mm and 6mm eyepieces?

What will I lose by using a barlow with this eyepiece?

Yes absolutely barlow it, will work well

By all means barlow it. Use a good quality barlow and it will perform almost as well as it does un-barlowed.

I often Barlow my 9 and 7mm orthos. One advantage is that it pushes the eye relief out so it is more comfortable to use than a shorter focal length ortho. I use a Baader VIP Barlow and it works very well, any decent quality one will do the same
