H N 40 in Sagittarius and below Cygnus.

Quite well paced and we're half up the UK, really worth finding at 18h 02.4m. -23 03'. A lovely multiple group in the Trifid Nebula , M20. A really stunning sight from A-D.

Sagitta showed the lovely orange h 2851 and companion at 19h 02.0m. +19.07'.

A close 2.1", white and green at x260 of STF 2484.( 19h14.3m. +19.04').

Then over to Delphinus,

Gamma Delphini and STF 2725 showing at x60 another double double , but brighter.

13 Delphini split 1.5" at x260, the faint companion found. As did

STF 2735 (20h 55.7m. +04 32') at 1.9".

Another optical triple at x50, STF 2738 (20h58.5m. +16 26') finished off that bit of the session.

Now the solstice is upon us, looking forward to long, dark and

Clear skies, Nick.

Nick - not heard of H N 40 in M20 before so must have a look. I checked out my Cambridge Double Star Atlas and noted that the separation is 6" and 11".

I had a good double star observing session last night as well covering the doubles in Bootes. At the end of the night spent some time looking at the delights of Scorpio and Sagittarius with the 20x80 binos. This included the Trifid Neb but did not appreciate the doubles in M20 that you mentioned.
