Hampshire Star Party

Hi All,

I am trying to plan out a star party in Romsey hopefully to be held on the 2nd and 3rd May 2008

I choose this date for two main reasons.

1 - New Moon is only 2/3 days away

2 - Coming near to maximum of eta aquarids meteor shower.

The location will be a farm venue with good dark skies, camping and also the chance for B&B option :-)

Romsey is also one of the first towns in the UK to experiment with switching off alot of its street lights around midnight!!!

If anyone is interested please do let make a post and I can get things rolling :-)

I only live down the road in Totton so, I'd be interested although, I'd probably not stay all night, prefer my comfy bed to an inflatable one!

Theres also going to be an option for just visiting on the night with your own scope but not staying overnight which i think is a good idea

Need to get more people interested in this though in order for it to be a success :-)

Looks like this might turn out to be a good all round event

Just to make it a complete success those of you who have attended star parties before if you could let me know what you liked and disliked from previous parties we can attempt to make this one an excellent weekend :-)

As far as I know Dogs are welcome as well.....the farmer is pretty flexible :-)
