First time with Mars

I finally got some clear skies and some ok seeing on Thursday (it really has been poor here the last two months) and managed to get my first proper view of Mars. It really is quite spectacular! I also gave imaging a go and this is the best of my results. It's not as good as most posted on SGL, but I'm still quite pleased

Taken with an Explorer 130P, 2.5x Barlow and an SPC900. Avi was five minutes long (c.3000 frames). Preprocessed in PIPP retaining the best 50% of frames and Stacked in Registax.

Nice image! When you do the wavelets etc in registax, try using the resize image and up it to 200%, option is on the right hand side.

nice first image, some excellent detail showing, polar cap, surface detail, and some cloud as well!

Also in Registax you could enable the drizzle option (at the top) when you stack as this can increase the size of the final image - try 1.5. Great image though, well done.
