Insulating an SCT

Recommended Posts

It'd be better to remove the Fastar secondary (assuming it had one) and point the OTA upwards.

As a compromise, I leave mine horizontal with the visual back open.

Just saw this post. I bought an insulated camping matt from Tesco at the weekend, only 5 quid, so thought id give it a try as a dew shield. As its plenty long enough, i might cut a grove out of it to go over the dovetail bar so that it slides down to the finder.

Only roughly fitted it last night, but it didnt sag at the end despite it sticking out so far. I presume someone else here must have used an insulated one before, if so, how was it?

Heres a pic of what I bought
