April 3, 2014: Awesome prom on western limb right now

Just set up the LS35 scope in the garden, and have seen that the "claw" on the western limb has developed into a magnificent long prom. At first it looked like a part was detached, but changing the tuning revealed a long knotted structure linking the blob to the surface. Really intricate detail can be seen.

sounds excellent, unfortunately not much chance of seeing it from Bedfordshire at the moment.

After 10 minutes or so, the blob at the end of this prom seemed to dissipate, and turn into a strange corkscrew-like formation. Ten minutes later it had faded significantly. After another ten minutes I could hardly see it.
