MARS Observations March 23, 2014

Took a shot at Mars, polar regions is to bright, maybe somebody can help me with the processing suggestions on this ?

Maybe adjust the recording for those channels ?

These are excellent images Freddie - Syrtis Major slap bang in the middle. I think the bright area at the top is Hellas and it appears to be very bright at the moment - particularly in the green and blue as you have shown here. There was comment on this over at Cloudy Nights I think. You have captured a lot of detail leagues better than the rather embarrassing effort that I am about to post - but I too have found a lot of green in my image. Very well captured.

Excellent set of images Freddie - good detail and the colouring is great - well done!

Great images. I think the only way to prevent the polar regions from blowing out is by ensuring the ADC is not saturated during capture. Careful choice of gain and gamma can ensure that e.g. you are only using 80-90% of the ADC range.
