Hi David, welcome from me too, another retired person.  I find I spend much of my time on learning about astronomy, as there is so much to learn, when I am not out observing I am on the PC following up things and discovering new facts about the universe and so on.

Hi Mate.. cheers!...  I too spend most of my time reading & gleaning Information on anything Astronomical...I went and bought myself a SW127 Goto with An orion IV imager.  Now all I need is more clear skies to get my Telescope out.  just sitting and watching the rain...again!....I did some work in the isle of seil (Balvicar) and I used to go up to the hills to watch the stars, perfect area for the telescope as one cannot see in a hand in front of their face.. but there's no light pollution and it's a brilliant place for  astronomy.
