Our Moon with Jupiter

Last night (10th February) wasn’t the best seeing conditions but thought I’d have a little fun with my trusty SPC900.

Seeing as the Moon was so bright and close to Jupiter I decided to take a few images and combine them to make an image scale.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

The night wasn't too great but after all the bad weather I decided to have a little fun trying this.

I agree Ron, it puts things into perspective when you see those great close up images from other members.

not often you get 5 moons in one pic :-)

is the small Jupiter+moon all one 'shot' as it were ?  i did hear that they were close to conjunction last night but didn't get to see it - was that the actual spacing and scale ?

Hi Stuart,

The small Jupiter with its moon was about 6° to 7° way from our Moon.

I took a little poetic license and moved them closer to get it in same shot.

I also took different exposures of the small Jupiter and then the small moons and combined them to give a single image, which I added next to our Moon.
